Magnetic resonance imaging is a noninvasive imaging technique that helps doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions. A powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer are used to produce detailed images of the organs, soft tissues, bones and other internal body structures. Ionizing radiation is not used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
